Surgery Is Not The Best Option For Herniated Discs

Back Surgery Is Less Than 50% Successful

Research studies have shown that back surgery for herniated discs is less than 50% successful and that the majority of surgical recipients would not have the surgery again.   So why do so many people have it?  Because they are in pain.  In most case studies, pain from herniated discs dissipates or is completely resolved with conservative chiropractic care, in less than 90 days.  You will never get a surgeon to admit to less than 50% success rate, but that is what the studies have shown.

Chiropractic care has been proven to decompress herniated discs, allowing them to heal, in most cases without the need for surgery.  I have had patients with herniated discs, scheduled for surgery, begin care, then  cancel their surgery as they heal.  If a herniated disc is causing you neck pain, back pain, radiating arm or leg pain, chiropractic may be your answer to avoiding unnecessary surgery and future complications.
